A number of pirates developed a reputation and became famous for their battles, conquests, and the bounty they obtained. In those days, the primary weapon used was pirate swords.

There are many different types of pirate swords that were actually used by pirates, and those that are replicas of famous movies. They all make for a nice addition for the blade and sword collector.

Some pirate swords about 35 inches in length with a stainless steel blade and the handle is a cord-wrapped grip with antique gold trim. The hard scabbard is covered in faux leather and addition antique gold trim.

piratesw1001There are various styles of swords that were used by the pirates of old. Some were of the curved bladed cutlass style with a broad sharp blade, and some had straighter blades and curved at the tip. Some had open handles and others had a covering for protection of the hand.

It is not difficult to find nice affordable pirate swords to add to anyone’s collection. A better quality pirate sword would have a blade of hand-forged, heat tempered carbon steel and would be razor sharp. It would also include a scabbard in which to carry the sword.

There are numerous different styles that were designed and used during the daring days of the Pirate. Some had very piratesw1001curved blades and other only slightly. Some had hand guards for protection and others did not.

A good Pirate knife would be hand-forged, carbon steel with a razor sharp blade. Pirate knives would make a great addition to any collection.
