Whether you are clearing brush from your property, or hiking or hunting in the wilderness, a good machete can be a very invaluable tool. It should be similar to a quality military machete.

A good machete should have a thick and sharp, full tang blade made of stainless steel, with a dark color to the blade. The handle is usually cushioned with maybe a nylon wrapping, and every machete needs to have a heavy duty sheath to carry it.

Tomahawk04919

Tomahawks have a long and varied history to them. The American Indians first made their tomahawks of stone with handles of carved wood. When the arriving Europeans introduced tomahawks with steel blades, they quickly changed to them too.

Tomahawks were very useful tools in everyday life for the Indians, but they could be used as a deadly weapon in combat. I think the best place for Native American tomahawks today is as a display in a room decorated in a western décor.

Trenchh1918

A lot of World War I was fought up close and personal. Both sides would dig trenches to live in and fight from. One side or the other would try to sneak up on the other, or try to overrun the other.

This often led to hand to hand combat in the trenches. When that occurred it was useful to have a weapon like the 1918 Trench knife. They a foot long and had very sharp dwere about ouble edged blades. The hand guard doubled as another weapon and as added protection for the hand.

Criminals often attack women because they think they will put up less of a fight than a man. Okay, it’s true these hardened criminals may have a point, but what they don’t know is that many women have secret weapons disguised as everyday items. Many women these days are packing stun guns in their purses.

Savvy weapons designers have created cell phone stun guns that are powerful enough to take down a 300-pound criminal. These “cell phone” stun guns don’t actually work as phones. They are just modeled to look like phones so that a criminal won’t expect the horrid shock they may receive as they embark on their attack.

If you use a blade on a regular basis, such as a pocket knife or a larger blade for camping and hiking, or even a collectible sword, you will want it to remain sharp. In order to do this you will need a good knife sharpener.

Diamond knife sharpeners are ideal for keeping all your blades sharp, especially if they have various ‘grit’ levels to choose from. These knife sharpeners will sharpen almost any blade, including a carbide steel blade.

Some heavy duty survival machetes come with full tang carbon steel blades that are ¼ inch thick. They can be about 18 inches in length with a leather warped handle and a leather sheath to carry it.
