Rambokc0578-1Whether you have wild sticker vines growing out of your rockery, (as I do), or if you find yourself in a heavy thicket on your trip through the woods, a heavy duty machete type tool would be great to have.

If you should find yourself in need of a blade like this, you should select one with a thick, full tang blade for strength. There are many types of machetes available, and some are replicas of blades used in popular movies, such as those similar to a Rambo knife.

Sharpenerdf8524dsWhether you have a good sized blade and weapons collection, or just a pocket knife and an old bowie knife for camping, it is important to keep the blades sharp. A dull blade is the most dangerous to you.

There are many different styles and types of knife sharpeners available, from small stones used to sharpen the blade manually, to electric sharpeners. When starting out, a good choice for a knife sharpener would be a manual diamond knife sharpener with multiple grit surfaces. This will sharpen almost all blades, including carbon steel. They can be used with your pocket knife or as hunting knife sharpeners.

Tomahawk04919

The original head/or blade of the American tomahawk was made of stone. After the European market got involved with making the tomahawk, did the Native Americans begin to use steel for the head of the tomahawk.

Native America Tomahawks have been used as a very useful tool in everyday life, but have also served a purpose as an effective weapon. They were even used by our armed forces as recently as the Viet Nam war.

cell phone stun gunsA few years ago, I was merely trying to get off the bus at my stop when some vagrants rushed me outside and pulled a knife out on me asking me for my wallet and my cell phone. Luckily, everything I had was of minimal value (the phone was cheap) but I was still shaken by the experience.

A friend of mine told me about cell phone stun guns. It’s essentially a mobile replica, but it will shock any perpetrator. Now, I carry this device with me and I hope that I won’t have to use it, but in case I do, that person will be sorry that they decided to try and mug me.

It is not unusual for a boy growing up to go through a stage when you experiment with throwing your pocket knife. Target4401You may just throw it into the ground, or a tree, or the side of an old building. None of which was very appropriate.

These days there are specialized throwing knives and replica ancient throwing stars that have been designed just for the purpose of throwing. If you should decide to try your hand at throwing weapons, it would be in your best interest to invest in a knife throwing target.

There are more and more different types of self defense weapons appearing on the market. Everything from pepper CellPhonesg900sprays, foams, and gels, to stun guns and tasers and batons.

The more I think about it, because of our current times, the more it sounds like a good idea to have some sort of protection. I am beginning to like the thought of having a weapon that does not look like a weapon, but can still protect me and others. I am strongly considering purchasing one of those cell phone stun guns to help me feel and be safer.

When sharpening a blade, pay close attention to the existing sharpening angle of the blade and make every effort to keep the angle the same. Professional diamond knife sharpeners will help ensure that you can successfully sharpen your blades.

A quality military machete usually comes with a sheath to protect one from the sharp and heavy blade. It can be a very useful tool as well as a dangerous weapon.
